Allwood

The neighborhood of Allwood is located within the city of Clifton in the southern section of Passaic County in the state of New Jersey. The city is the 11th most populated in the states. Some nearby communities are Nutley, Glen Ridge, Brookdale, and Delawanna. The main roadways through the community are New Jersey Route 3, Allwood Road, Kingsland Street, Bloomfield Avenue, and Brook Avenue. 

History

The greater area of 11,000 acres was given to Hans Frederick by the Native American leader, Captahem, in 1679. It became an agricultural hub by 1903 as well as the home of the U.S. Animal Quarantine Station. 

In 1901, the Upper Montclair Country Club was founded. The course was designed by well-known golf architects, They designed the 27-hole course to include a challenging golf experience regardless of the golfer's skill level. The private clubhouse serves as a venue for hosting events such as the following:

Neighborhood

In May of 1970, the area got its own library off of Lyall Road. Previously, the Allwood Women's Club had started the branch of the Clifton Library in the late 1930s, with the help of a donation of 250 books. 

In the center of the town is the Clifton Circle, a grassy-filled roundabout on Bloomfield Avenue. Farther up the road, off of Market Street, is the neighborhood gem, the Allwood Theater. The theater offers the residents the chance to view movies for only $5. Nearby are the following dining options:
