Getting to Know Bergenwood, NJ

The personal injury lawyers in Bergenwood, NJ at NJ Injury Guys have presented the following details on the town's history and what it offers its community today.

Bergenwood

The long narrow neighborhood Bergenwood is a district of North Bergen located in Hudson County, New Jersey. The area sits in the northern region of the township between John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Tonnelle Avenue. The hilly terrain is second only to those found in San Francisco. The neighboring communities include Racetrack Section, Fairview, Woodcliff, and West New York.

History

The area claimed its name based on the heavy forestry that it once was. During the times that led up to the Revolutionary War, the area was full of footpaths used by the Native American tribes, followed by the European settlers in the nearby communities. The area was quite larger as it encompassed much of North Bergen and was known then as Bergen Woods. Under British control, the area was used as a pathway for the Americans during espionage, foraging excursions, and raiding expeditions.

Neighborhood

The neighborhood is full of steep slopes and many hills. This unusual topography has caused the many roadways to be broken up and not fun contiguously. The stretch of John F. Kennedy Boulevard serves as the business district.
