The unincorporated community of Grenloch is situated in the eastern section of Washington Township that is part of Gloucester County in the state of New Jersey. The town's eastern border is created by the South Branch Big Timber Creek, which flows before running into Grenloch Lake. History

The area was originally known as Tetamekon, one of the township's oldest communities, a thriving Lenni-Lenape village. After the Europeans settled the area, the community was renamed. Its name means green lake in Scottish. Many of the early families included:

• 1798 - the Turner family - Turnersville was named after them
