The unincorporated community is found within the Buena Borough in the western region of Atlantic County in New Jersey. The town is just north of the Wheat Road community and south of Landisville. The main roadways that travel through the area are Park View Drive, Northwest Boulevard, South Brewster Road, and Wheat Road. The elevation for the community is 125 feet. The sole zip code for the area is 08341.

History

The community was founded on August 7, 1897. It was founded by John H. Sims, who established the Minotola Post Office, located on Central Avenue. 

Parks and Recreation

The neighborhood is home to two large parks, Melini Park and Blackwater Pond Park. A bike path connects the two and is 1.9 miles that loop around the backside of Melini Park. Visitors can choose to bike or walk the path, and there are benches along the way. 

Melini Park is home to the Joe Dale pavilion and is located on Park View Drive, just down the road from the Buena Senior Center. Some of the amenities that it has to offer its guests are:

• five baseball fields
• basketball courts 
• playground areas
• a concession stand for use during the baseball games
• tennis courts

On the west side of Brewster Road is the larger of the two parks, Blackwater Pond Park. The site was purchased in 1984 from the Buena borough. In 1991 the Buena Nature Club was established to maintain the park as the only preserved natural ecosystem in Buena. In addition to the park amenities like jogging and birdwatching, the area is home to several different trails, such as:

• the Yellow Trail - opens up to a picnic area and leads to the park's center
• the Blue Trail - this is a loop that circles around Blackwater pond and has three bridges
• the White Trail - leads to the northern section of the park and offers season views of mountain laurel blooms
• The Bluebird Trail - a non-wooded trail that offers visitors the chance to see an Eastern Bluebird

Demographics

The area is an ethically diverse community. The majority of the townspeople are white, followed by African Americans. Residents of Hispanic and Latino origin make up 25.78% of the population.  The area is home to many ancestries, including the following:

• English

The annual income per household was $53,060 in 2010. This was an increase from $35,679 in 2000. The occupational breakdown of the working residents is the following:

• 21.92% office and administrative support
• 10.83% sales and service positions
