Haworth

The borough of Haworth is found within the central region of Bergen County in New Jersey. The nearest communities include Harrington Park, Westwood, Emerson, Township of Washington, and New Milford. The western boundary sits on the Oradell Reservoir. The primary roadways that travel through the borough are Sunset Avenue and Schraalenburgh Road.

History

The borough was officially formed via an act of the state legislature on February 24, 1904. The borough took portions of the land from Harrington Township and the Dumont borough. It was named after a historical village in England. 

A historical landmark can be seen as you travel down Massachusetts Avenue. The two-story Garret Zabriskie House was built in 1818 and added to the National Register on January 9, 1983.

The borough is home to the White Beeches Country Club, located in the southwest region and featuring 18 holes. Walter Travis designed the course, and it was constructed in 1915. It has hosted the following:

Another gem in the neighborhood is the Haworth Country Club, a private club also featuring 18 holes. Like the other course, this one has been host to many US Open sectional qualifiers. It officially opened in 1965 and was initially designed by Toscana Filenti but redesigned by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 2000. In 1997, the borough obtained full ownership of the Country Club's land from the local water company.
