This unincorporated community, a census-designated place, or CDP, is situated in the central region of Atlantic County, New Jersey. Along with several other communities, it forms the Gallaway Township. Some of these communities include:

The main roadways in the area are Route 30, the Garden State Parkway, Chris Gaupp Drive, and Pomona Road. Route 30, or White Horse Pike, travels just inside the southern border of the town. History

The Lenape Native Ameican Indian tribes inhabited the area for thousands of years prior to the European settlers stepping foot on the land. The Lenape tribe was part of the Algonquian language people that dwelled along the eastern coast. The English were the first colonial settlers to enter the area. The community lies in the Galloway Township, founded in 1774 by a Royal Patent from King George III of Great Britain.

Home prices in the area are less expensive than 81.6% of the state's other neighborhoods and average $237,694. Rent is also lower than most communities in the state and runs $1,083 per month. The area consists primarily of homeowners but offers many apartment complexes. The town's vacancy rate is lower than in the country at 4.5%.
