Tansboro

The unincorporated community lies within Winslow Township in the southwestern section of Camden County, New Jersey. The neighboring communities include Williamstown Junction, Waterford, Atco, East Berlin, Albion, and Berlin. The center of the neighborhood is located at the intersection of Taunton Road and Tansboro Road, also known as County Road 561. 

History

The community helps form the largest municipality in Camden County that was incorporated on November 26, 1867. Some of the other communities within the township include:

• Ancora
• Braddock
• Blue Anchor
• Cedar Brook
• Dicktown
• Elm
• Florence

The township took land from Gloucester Township and was named after William Coffin Sr., a glass factory owner during the 19th-century. 

In 1928, the schools were built in the area, and in 1940 they were sold. Students travel to Winslow Middle School and Winslow Township High School, located just south of the community. 

Neighborhood

Within the neighborhood is the family-owned and operated Golden Nugget Tavern. The establishment was opened in 1956 and has live music for the residents to enjoy every Friday and Saturday evening. A dance floor and outdoor bar offer both food and entertainment for the community to enjoy. 

Located off of West Taunton Road is the Miss Chris School of Dance. The dance studio opened in 1975 and provides dance lessons to all skill levels and includes a competition team. The studio even offers a five-year teaching program for those interested in teaching the art of dance. 

On East Taunton Road is the Corporate Headquarters for Advanced Sciences and Technologies. The firm was established in 2005, offering engineering and tech support services to their clients. Some of their clients include the Federal Aviation Administration, the U. S. Navy, and the U. S. Coast Guard.
