Barclay is an unincorporated community located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The community has been a part of Barclay-Kingston since the 2000s but officially split in 2010. Barclay is known for its historic farmhouse, located in the Barclay Farms neighborhood.
Built in 1816, the house was owned and operated by Cherry Hill Township and offers a variety of living history programs for visitors to explore. The Barclay Farm House is open for visitors all year and hosts special activities such as frequent outdoor concerts during the summer months and their annual craft fair during the winter.
In the farmhouse's immediate vicinity, there are designated light hiking trails, a playground, and a number of vegetable gardens, which are maintained by local residents who rent space to grow produce during the summer.
The historic farmhouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 26, 1978.
Statistics from the United States Census in 2010 shared that there was an estimated number of 4,428 people, 1,621 households, and 1,334 families living in the community. Of the 1,621 households, about 33% had children under the age of 18, 73% were married couples, 7% were single women householders, and 17% of households were non-families. The average household was estimated at 2.7, and the average family size was about 3.
Of the population, the cultural diversity is estimated at about 94% White, 2.5% Hispanic or Latino, 2.6% Asian, and 1% or less of Black or African American, Pacific Islander, Native American, or any other race.
