The community of Woodcrest is situated in the township of Cherry Hill in the northern section of Camden County, New Jersey. The neighboring communities include Glendale, Echelon, Voorhees Township, and Lindenwold. Early History

The Lenni-Lenape Native Americans inhabited the region before being displaced by the European settlers. The early settlers included English Quaker followers of William Penn. They came into the area during the later portion of the 17th century. 

The community was established around 1950 and is the oldest within the township of Cherry Hill. The community began its residential development in 1955 under Harold and Morris Sarshik. It began as a farming community but eventually grew to include both a residential and a commercial area.

Neighborhood

The neighborhood also has its own swim club, the Downs Farm Swim Club. This private club was established in 1957 and is located on Evesham Road.
